The aim of Chimp and See is to monitor chimps in order to help researchers learn about the environment as well as evolution. It’s an easy task, where you initially study 9 screenshots laid out in a grid, taken from camera traps in 15 African countries. If you can see an animal, click “I see something” which will take you to a full video of that screenshot where you are then invited to watch and start classifying the animals you see via the guided instructions. For each animal you observe you should add an annotation stating species, age and sex (your best guess will do). You can even go a step further and help to identify and “name” individual chimps by following ID prompts.
